Dear Ms. Percival:

As you know, Barnard College has recently opened a Women's Center. Its
purpose is to support Women's Studies at Barnard, to initiate a dialogue
about the several ways in which women may lead their lives, and to
create projects which may either advance what we know about women or help
women realize their full potential. I have enclosed a brochure about

the Center for those of you who may not already have received one.

We are also establishing an Advisory Board, consisting of members of
the Barnard community who have shown special interest in the problems
of women or who may give us special insight into them. The Board is to
be drawn from our Trustees, faculty, staff, alumnae, and student body.
It will not meet regularly as a body, but rather we would like to feel
free to call upon its members from time to time for advice and counsel.

I would like to invite you to become a member of the Women's Center
Advisory Board. I also hope you will be able to join us on Tuesday,
November 23rd, in the Women's Center from 3:30 to 5:00 when we will be
having a shall, informal housewarming. I hope you will be able to
accept both invitations. We believe that the Center will prove to be
a vital part of the College and that your help and guidance will aid
immeasurably in its success.

Sincerely,

77Lo.~dt... P«_.¢.o.-........
