An attached newspaper clipping reads, "Columbia Romeos, leave-taking at Brooks Hall. It's a nightly scene at 10:30. Left to right are Bill Joslin, first-year law, and George Scheffler and Dalt Farrell, Columbia juniors. But don't call them "lovely boys" as that's a term of opprobrium at Barnard. The Juliets on the balcony are, left to right, Miss Betty Farrell, a sophomore, but no relation to Dalt; Nancy Goodwin, sophomore, and Joann McQuiston [Class of 1942]. They have just left the 'beau parlors' inside Brooks Hall, where Barnard girls entertain their men." See also http://digitalcollections.barnard.edu/islandora/object/islandora%3A507/
