VIRGINIA HAGGERTY. M. D. 444 EAST BOSTON POST ROAD ‘ ) MAMARONECK. NEW YORK 10543 A OWENS B-2272 October 29, 1971 \\ Miss Martha Peterson, President /’\ Barnard College New York, N. Y. Dear President Peterson: Thank you for your invitation to join the Advisory Board for the Women's Center at Barnard. It is a most worthy endeavor and deserving of the sunoort of all alumnae, and I am honored to have been asked to serve. In previous discussion I find that I frequently represent a different point of View from other professional and business women with respect to careers for mothers so perhaps my role can be that of the "children's advocate". I will not be able to attend the housewarming on November 23rd because my day is already scheduled. May I suggest that if you want business and professional women as part of your group that a weekday afternoon is not the "ti1‘fie“‘17o‘ m'e'e"6 ’"s;‘ir1c”e“'in6efc‘"’y;>fgy us‘}}‘5“u1_"a?"Ii}é'jv7e to a"‘wn61e*-‘art§fi;:i§;;;;j,;j,j; ; , '”“”I‘*?aIn““I'
