The Alum Scrapbook Collection consists of scrapbooks, personal diaries, and class diaries dating from 1892-1913. These items, donated by Barnard alums, depict life at Barnard and touch on topics such as dating, crushing, women's rights, religious discrimination, clubs, sports, and Greek life through the experiences of young college women. The scrapbooks also include hundreds of theater and commencement programs, ribbons, newspaper clippings, and photographs. The Barnard Archives and Special Collections digitized these collections as part of College Women: Documenting Women in Higher Education, an NEH-funded collaborative project between the former Seven Sisters colleges. Graduate Fellows Cristina Fontánez Rodríguez and Hannah Sistrunk led this project.
