Plans for The Scholar and the Feminist conference are nearly complete...

...The morning session will consist of three concurrent panels of four
scholars, each representing different disciplines. Each panelist will
address the questions: what has been the impact of feminism on my own
scholarship? on my understanding of women? on my understanding of my
field? Most of you will discuss or describe your own current research
as a point of departure. The remarks should be about fifteen minutes
to allow for a good discussion period. Following the presentations by
your panel, one of three Barnard faculty members, Annette Baxter,
Catharine Stimpson, or Suzanne Wemple, will moderate the ensuing dis-
cussion.

...During the afternoon we look forward to your presence at one of the
workshops which will be coordinated by a Barnard faculty person. Each
workshop will have a specific theme under the general topic: Scholarship
and Feminism: Conflict, Compromise, Creativity.

...Feminist Studies plans to publish the papers and a summary of the pro-
ceedings as a full issue for its fall 1974 journal. A separate paper-
back publication appears likely. Unless I hear from you by March l5th,
we will assume that your agreement to participate in the conference and
to present a paper indicates your willingness and permission to have
your paper and remarks during discussion published under these auspices.

...The intent of the conference is to have the papers provide an analytical
framework which will assist participants (faculty, students, and others)
to put some of the salient issues in perspective.

...We need an advance copy of your paper by April 15th to help us in our
coordinating efforts for the conference. Please submit three copies
of your paper at the time of the conference.

...Your transportation expenses for the conference will be reimbursed and
we will be happy to arrange accommodations with Barnard faculty members
for Friday and/or Saturday night should you so desire. Please let us
know by April 15th if you wish overnight accommodations.

..I am enclosing a few conference flyers for your use.
...If you have any questions please write or call me. I always get a
message at 212-280-2067, or you can reach me in the evenings at home

212-625-2931.
