Dear Elly:

Thanks so much for your letter and also for

the copy of your one to M. L. and Brown. I
understand you were having dinner with them

last night, and by now they have probably

pickflyour brain for further intelligence

about the Womens' Center. But I was very

glad to get word of plans that are now in

progress and think Barnard’s use of the ,_
money in the way you indicate is eminently {,5_ ,
fitting and very much in line with H. R.'s 'y§kg§{g&5‘;‘
thinking about the role of women. A ‘ ' '

H. R.'s autographed;f books and decorations
can be given a home to advantage at Barnard.
The books add up to a rather interesting

collection of current material, mostly written _;

are not all hers. Some are undoubtedly my i ';L3““
father's and others may go back to my grand— XX; \2

parents. They would, in any event, be a Reid - \
collection, and perhaps they would make a \
decorative display. I recently came on A}
citations in connection with the Siamese 3
decorations, and these I will get into the ;
hands of whomever is handling them -—- ~ I
probably the woman in charge of the archives, E
whose name I have momentarily lost track of. I

of medals and special awards, which could be 1-
meaningful, and a few other items.
